Point Chevalier House

Located in Point Chevalier, this large family home underwent a comprehensive renovation, taking the existing house back to its framing and reimagining both its architecture and interiors. The exterior was re-clad in a combination of vertical and horizontal cedar, complemented by new window joinery and a reconfigured floor plan designed around the way the family wanted to live.

The interior brief was to create an easy-living ‘urban bach’ relaxed and welcoming, but with the level of detail and refinement expected of an everyday family home. The design balances practical family living with a sense of understated luxury, creating spaces that feel comfortable without compromising on considered detailing.

A carefully selected palette of finishes, fittings and materials brings warmth and cohesion throughout the home. Natural textures and tactile surfaces create a relaxed atmosphere, while bespoke elements add depth and individuality. The result is a home that feels effortless and inviting, with a strong connection between the architecture, interiors and the family’s lifestyle.

The completed renovation has transformed the original property into a contemporary family home that combines the informality of a coastal retreat with the comfort and sophistication of considered residential design.
