This was a particularly special project for our clients, with the site having been in the family for many years and the original house holding fond childhood memories. The decision to create a new home was therefore about more than simply building; it was an opportunity to honour the history of the site while creating a home for the next chapter.
The brief was to create a sophisticated yet comfortable home for two, with the flexibility to accommodate extended family and larger-scale entertaining. Clever planning has made the most of the site, creating a strong connection between the main house, pool house and generous outdoor spaces, while framing spectacular views across the harbour.
The interiors were designed to feel relaxed and welcoming, balancing the clean architectural lines with a warm and tactile material palette. Natural textures, considered finishes and bespoke elements create a sense of understated luxury, while the spaces have been carefully planned to transition effortlessly from everyday living to entertaining.
The pool house provides an additional space for guests and larger gatherings, extending the home’s entertaining capabilities while maintaining a sense of privacy and connection to the main residence. Throughout, the design takes advantage of natural light, harbour views and the relationship between the indoor and outdoor spaces.
The result is a contemporary home that respects the significance of the site while looking firmly to the future, a private retreat for two that can effortlessly expand to welcome family, friends and generations to come.
