Trinity was invited by Mercer and Mercer Architects to collaborate with their clients on the interior furnishing and final layers of a family home thoughtfully designed to cascade down its gently sloping site, surrounded by established native bush and alive with birdsong.
Mercer and Mercer had established a considered architectural foundation, including the interior finishes, creating the perfect canvas for Trinity to introduce depth, warmth and richness while maintaining a strong connection to the natural landscape visible from every room.
A significant art and object collection was central to the interior scheme, informing the selection of fabrics, rugs, linens, cushions and furnishings throughout the home. A combination of European furniture and bespoke New Zealand-made pieces brings individuality and character to each space, with carefully considered details reflecting the clients’ distinctive aesthetic.
This is an interior that deliberately moves beyond the expected. It is not defined by white walls and neutral furnishings, but by colour, texture, art and personality. Vibrant yet calming, expressive yet cohesive, the home feels effortlessly curated, a collection of considered pieces brought together to create an interior that is both deeply personal and timeless.
